Makeup Haul: Rimmel, Max Factor, Kiko & More

Hey guys! Last weekend I went shopping and splurged in two of my favourite shops – Superdrug and Kiko! Here’s what I bought!

The first item I picked up was the B. Blusher/Contour Brush! I’d been after this for a while, so was super pleased when I discovered it was on offer for £5.99! The quality is amazing and it’s the perfect size for my cheeks!

The next thing I popped in my basket was the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lavish Mauve. Again, this was something I’d been after for a while and although this wasn’t reduced, I had £9 left on my gift card, so spent it on this!

The third thing was the Miss Sporty Glossy Eye Shadow in Peanut Butter! At £2.99, it would’ve been rude not give this a go!

I also purchased the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent because a lot of people rave about this on YouTube and I’d hate to be missing out on a fab product!

Then, at the till, I noticed Garnier Micellar Water was on offer, so of course I had to pick one up because this is my favourite makeup remover ever!

Finally, I went into Kiko and came out with their Natural Concealer in 01. Although the tube is tiny, the formula seems lovely and the shade I chose will be ideal for brightening the under eye area!

So, I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog post! I’m pretty sure I’m going to love the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush, so watch out for a review on that in the near future!

No7 Velvet Lash Mascara | Review

Until recently, I’d overlooked the brand No7 because, to be quite honest, I thought it was aimed at older ladies! But I’ve realised they’ve got some really great products, suitable for all ages!

A few weeks ago, Mum and I had a proper makeover at our local No7 counter. And after the lady’s spent a great deal of time doing your makeup, you feel you need to buy something. I particularly liked the mascara and so came home with that, a spur-of-the-moment purchase, but a fantastic one! I will buy this mascara over and over and over, it’s honestly that good!

The packaging is nice, nothing special, but it’s sturdy and the wand is comfortable to hold. The product itself is what WOWs me! It separates and lengthens every lash, resulting in lovely, long, fluttery lashes; I’ve had so many compliments on them!

no7 mascara

Because I wear this to school, I have it in Brown; it’s a lot less intense than black mascara and looks  so much more natural. Another thing I’d like to point out that it layers like a dream: not a clump in sight! And, it doesn’t budge all day, so no panda eyes!

The only downfall to this product is its price. For a mascara, £13.50 is just a little steep because I know there are other ones out there that do a similar job for about half the price of this one!

None the less, I’ll probably fork out again when this runs out because I just love it so, so much!

  • Sturdy packaging
  • comfortable grip on wand
  • Separates and lengthens
  • Results in lovely, long, fluttery lashes
  • Comes in two shades (Brown and Black)
  • Layers beautifully
  • Does not clump
  • Stays in place all day

  • Price is a little steep

So, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Until next time!

Makeup Revolution Haul 2016

Hello everyone! Last weekend, I did a spot of online shopping and placed a Makeup Revolution order! Everything arrived today and because haul posts are something I really enjoy writing, I thought I’d write one! Here’s what all I purchased:

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with lots of lip products and the new Iconic Pro Lipsticks caught my attention. I picked up mine in the shade Looking Ahead, which is a gorgeous reddy-brown. The finish of this lipstick is lovely and the packaging reminded me a bit of Mac lipsticks. This cost £2.49.

The lip gloss is just clear with a slight shimmer. I bought this to wear over the lipstick, but I think it would look good on it’s own, too. The packaging is basic, but the formula is non-sticky. I’d say for £1.00 it’s pretty amazing!

The next thing is this matte blusher in the shade Fusion. It’s a coral pink and super pigmented. The packaging is nice and sturdy and the pan is deep, so you get lots of product. This doesn’t look chalky at all; it’s amazing quality for £3.00.

I’d heard their brushes were really good, so I decided to go for the powder brush, which I use for bronzing. the bristles are so soft and it picks up the perfect amount of product. I’d love to try their stipple brush, as well.

I picked this Pure Pigment up in the shade Etiquette, which is a gorgeous silvery brown.  Although I’ve not yet tried this, I’m sure it would look amazing packed onto the lid with perhaps a matte brown through the crease.

So, that is everything I ordered from Makeup Revolution! I hope you’ve enjoyed this haul post; I really loved writing it!

Wicked Musical London | Review

I reckon Wicked is possibly the most-raved about musical ever, so, on Wednesday, when I went to see it with school at the Apollo Theatre in London, my expectations of it were very high! Turns out, those expectations were massively exceeded!  I pretty much sat through the entire thing with my mouth the shape of an ‘O’. It was extraordinary!

Wicked is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz and is the story of Elphaba, a misunderstood young lady, treated unfairly at school because of her green skin, and her enemy-come-friend, Glinda, who’s ditsy yet likable.

Then, added to the mix is Madame Morrible, who has unrevealed reasons as to why she is offering to coach the naturally talented Elphaba. Also, Fiyero, a  charming prince arrives at school. Glinda immediately begins making wedding plans but there’s one slight problem: he likes Elphaba!

I cannot get over how good this was and would love to see it again; I think I’d be more attentive to detail if I watched it a second time!

You really get to see the characters from an utterly different perspective. For instance, Dorothy makes a quick appearance but she’s perceived as a villain, quite the opposite of how she’s made to look in The Wizard of Oz.

I really really enjoyed this and highly recommend you go see it, if you haven’t already! Also, there’s a twist towards the end, so make sure to pay full attention!

Have you seen Wicked? Do you want to?

Best Highlighter Ever: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer | Review

Hello everyone! Today I’ll be reviewing a new favourite product of mine, The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. It’s the most stunning champagne highlighter and would look good on any skintone!

The packaging is actually what made me buy it (or, rather, add it to my Christmas list!) because it’s just so pretty! It’s rather sturdy as well, so good for travelling!

The highlighter itself is just as gorgeous as the packaging, and it’s very finely milled, so you needn’t worry about huge flecks of glitter accentuating pores; the shimmer particles are tiny and make your skin look glowy, not glittery!

It’s very subtle, but, I can imagine, buildable! I apply it with my Real Techniques Setting Brush to the tops of my cheekbones, to the tip of my nose, to my temples and, also to my cupid’s bow. It just catches the light beautifully and makes my  skin look radiant and healthy.

Now, it’s rather expensive, costing a hefty £17.50, but, even with daily use, this is bound to last years! And I seriously think this is worth the money because it’s the most beautiful highlighter I’ve ever come across!

I’d love to try more from The Balm; everything looks amazing, especially their eyeshadow palettes! Do you have a favourite highlighter? Mine definitely Mary Lou!
